About This Course


An introductory course that examines practices like wudu, ghusl, tayammum, and more in the context of the Qur'an and Sunnah intends to offer individuals the chance to better grasp the Islamic idea of Purity (Taharah).

“Oh you who have believed, when you rise to [perform] prayer, wash your faces and your forearms to the elbows and wipe over your heads and wash your feet to the ankles. And if you are in a state of janabah, then purify yourselves.” (Qur’an, 5:6)

Students will be better understand the following:

  • Understand the required purification laws (taharah)
  • Study the Sunnah practices of wudu and ghusl.
  • Understand how to handle modern challenges relating to purification
  • Recognize all difficulties relating to water, its uses, and its various forms.
  • Recognize the Shari'ah's concept of purity and impurity.

Irslan Ahmad

Islamic Studies Teacher
Irslan Ahmad is a seasoned instructor with over eight years of teaching experience in various Islamic institutions in Dallas and elsewhere. A hafiz of the Qur’an, Irslan has spent considerable time in the company of local scholars and a’immah with the support of family and teachers. He has a B.S in Neuroscience and an M.A. in Islamic Education. Currently a full-time student pursuing the sacred sciences at Darul Qasim College, he intends to continue studying Islam. Irslan has also served in various roles in the Muslim community from a tender age, from a board position in his university MSA to leading da’wah projects to development work for charity institutions. In his free time, he enjoys reading, playing basketball, painting, traveling, and spending time with his family.
